Join us for the very first Elder Path Project Fireside Gathering, an evening of community, conversation, history, reflection and connection in the beautiful surroundings of Llanyrafon Manor Farm, Cwmbran.
As the sun begins to set and the Buck full moon rises, gather around the ceremonial fire on the front lawns of one of Cwmbran’s oldest surviving historic buildings.
Bring a chair, bring a blanket, and spend a relaxed summer evening among like-minded people in a place that has welcomed visitors for centuries.
Your evening includes:
• Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits • Marshmallows for toasting around the fire • A self-guided exploration of Llanyrafon Manor Farm • Historical interpretation to read while wandering the house • Time to discover the stories of the Manor and its fascinating past • Access to the historic grounds once occupied by the monks of Llantarnam Abbey • Opportunities to meet new people, share stories and make connections • A simple reflection ceremony around the fire Paper and pencils will be provided for those who wish to write down worries, burdens, habits or thoughts they would like to leave behind. These can be respectfully offered to the fire as part of an optional community reflection.
Throughout the evening, guests are welcome to share their own stories, memories, family traditions, folklore, local legends or experiences connected to the area. Perhaps you have a tale passed down through generations, a memory of the Manor, or a piece of local history that deserves to be remembered. Sharing is entirely optional.
You are equally welcome to simply sit by the fire, listen to the stories of others and enjoy the atmosphere of the gathering.
